At the end of February, we presented our Autum/Winter collection for 2022 at DC Fashion Week. We showcased 15 of our high-end gowns and one body suit to be seen on the runway.
Our inspiration behind this collection partially is inspired by the 1920’s which was a pivotal time in the fashion industry for women. The 1920's was monumental in fashion because it included bold colors, flapper dresses, dropped waists, plunging necklines and of course lots of fringe! Our lead designer admires Coco Chanel from that era because she built her fashion empire from the bottom up and was not afraid to stand out by trying new trends. Her other inspiration comes her father whom she lost a few months ago. He was a man of many hats who owned his own business, and always pushed her out of her comfort zone teaching her how to be strong which made her who is she today. This collection embraces a new beginning of empowerment and an extreme level of confidence to push the boundaries by standing out in the fashion world.
For this collection, we played around with various fabrics and textures such as luxe velvets with fringe, iridescent fabrics, embellishments and sequin
s. For the silhouette we experimented with rouching details to
accentuate our models' curves, pouf sleeves to produce an edgy look, and high and low skirts to bring forth some asymmetry to the collection. The usage of gold and black was the prominent color choice for the collection. This played homage to our signature elegant/edgy aesthetic that was symbolic to royalty and confidence.
